Jamb Cut Off Mark For Federal And State Universities In Nigeria

Note, that there are several exams and tests that one can sit for to gain entry into a higher institution, but the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) remains the major examination to gain entry into a higher institution in Nigeria.

The Jamb cut off mark is the minimum score a prospective student must get before he/she can obtain a school post utme form and also gain admission.

There are two basic types of cut-off mark which are:

The jamb cut off mark and the departmental cut-off mark, now some individuals call post utme cut-off mark in place of jamb cut off mark. Note, the jamb cut off mark is usually released together with the school’s post-utme form.

While the departmental cut off mark is the average score obtained from candidates Jamb and screening score.

Candidates must attain the departmental score if they must gain admission to study their selected course, but currently higher institution departments have not released their cut-off marks.

Getting admission into any of Nigeria’s prestigious higher institutions is not an easy one, likewise in every part of the world, students in Nigeria are expected to go through a series of tests or examinations which will qualify them to apply to the school of their choice.
